The Society of Forest Amenity and Human Health Promotion in Japan has been established in April 2010. We established this society through over ten years forest therapy experiences. Our academic mission is researching and verifying the forest amenities’ effects and also the relationship between human health and forest environment.
Our society makes practical programs which contribute to our health and well-beings, relaxation activities, vocational programs which make both of forest and human beings healthier, self-counseling methods in the forest, and so forth. Our clients and work partners are a whole range, from a baby child to old people, and partners are specialists of child care, education, medicine, forestry, social welfare, interpreter of national park, and everybody who has interest about forest and human health.
The objective of our society
There are many villages in Japan, where 40% of the population is now over the age of 65. Our society attempts to link the forest with such village elder people and try to increase their health and their amenity benefits, too. Furthermore, we conduct practical researches: primary prevention of disease, early therapeutic intervention, recovery andrehabilitation, healthful development of children and palliative care, and all based on human activities in the forest.
